“Well, somebody had a big bowl of confidence this morning.”
That was their response to the following email I had just sent.
Below is how I worded the email.
“I am wearing Bostonian saddle oxford shoes, Ralph Lauren khakis, Ralph Lauren undershirt, Ralph Lauren white button down, a red Ralph Lauren sweater vest and a dark green with navy lining Patagonia jacket. My smile is wide and my hair is parted just perfectly. I ain’t gonna lie to you. I look good.”
We should all have a big bowl of confidence every morning.
Whether we are decked out in name brand clothing or not.
Be confident in who you are and people will see you differently than ever before.
That sounds like a trite and worn out cliché.
However, it is true.
A young man I used to work with once told me, “No one respects me here.”
I told him, “Because you do not walk into a room as though you are to be respected.”
Some people just carry themselves well.
A speaker can say nothing of substance, but if he or she can deliver “nothing”, as though it is “something”, people will be inspired by “everything” and “anything”, he or she says.
Things we were taught in elementary school.
Practice good posture, do not rush your walk, slow down your pattern of speech, enunciate your words, slow your breathing, and speak from your diaphragm.
And, certainly be prepared in the area of content of which you specialize.
Add a big bowl of confidence to those items and you will accomplish more than you ever thought possible or imagined.
Why?
People like and respect confident people.
Want people to respect you?
Be confident.
Have a big bowl of confidence tomorrow morning before you head out the door.
Also, purchase your name brand clothing at Goodwill, which I have been doing my entire adult life.
