One reason many christians are willing to remain at one spiritual level for a long length of time, is that if they go any higher the persecution and responsibility will get tougher.
They do not see that the power and authority you have to combat these trials will also become greater.
God does not get enough credit for being able to war against Satan.
He already defeated Satan through Christ.
Another excuse they may use not to press ahead is, “Well, I don’t see anyone else doing it.”
That is because there are so few who are.
It does not take a great number of people to establish the Kingdom of God.
It does however, take those who are willing to go beyond their present experience with Christ.
When the women came to mourn over Jesus at the tomb they were met by angels who said, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, he is risen.”
The mediocre Christian is not going to continue beyond his present experience without someone else going first.
They cannot forge ahead because they are looking for life among the dead.
Others see the lives of many Christians as empty tombs.
I do not want my life to be seen as an empty tomb.
My desire is to be a witness of the risen Christ and his kingdom.
It is then that we live as an example as Jesus did, “I have come to bring life.”
I sincerely believe that when the church becomes that witness others will know not only by our spirit but also by our countenance.
In Luke 9 Christ went up to a mountain to pray.
On the mountain Jesus was praying and the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning.
This change did not come from a great beam of light from heaven.
It came forth from his spirit as he was getting closer and closer to fulfilling his mission.
We have got to be ready when Christ takes us up on the mountain to pray.
Let my face and my spirit be glowing as I come from the mountain of God.
Christ is to be our example.
He would never give us something to follow that was not somehow attainable.
But this is not an average Christian walk.
This is the road that lead to true fulfillment of God’s purpose in your life.
