My text to them was simple, “No matter how big you are thinking regarding your future, you ain’t thinking big enough. Think much, much bigger.”
We each limit our thoughts, our expectations, our prayers, our dreams, all that we imagine for our lives.
We make it so it is acceptable to our little brain.
To be achievable for our little faith.
We set ourselves up to live an almost life.
As though it is our destiny.
There is a reason why the followers of Christ said, “Lord, we believe, but help our unbelief.”
It is as though they were saying, “We almost understand and we almost believe. Help us, we are so close.”
We don’t pray to a God who shares our little expectations.
Years ago…talking to my daughter, taking her to school and as I did each morning I was praying for her regarding matters of the day.
We had a pretty large need at that time that was approaching quickly.
I actually asked God to meet that need and then immediately began to clarify it so that, just in case it did not happen, I would not be disappointed.
Then I immediately asked God to forgive me for my lack of faith.
My daughter was probably confused and thinking, “Dad, either you believe God can, or, you don’t believe God can, but make up your mind.”
And she was exactly right. I had to make up my mind.
I did and God did…as He does many time…upon our faith.
You only have one future and it always starts right now.
So, why not start thinking bigger, much bigger about your future and your life.
What are your dreams and aspirations?
Are they attainable by your standards without God’s help?
Then that’s not God.
Great goal but you can do that without Him.
Are they beyond anything you can think or imagine?
Then that’s God.
God loves over achievers who know that their accomplishments are only through His strength and His purpose.
List some ideas, projects and dreams that are beyond your ability to accomplish.
But are for some reason burned in your heart and will not go away.
God’s plan for our life will always be bigger than the plan we had in mind.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think (or imagine), according to the power that works within us.” Ephesians 3:20
That should be all you need to know.
