In order to make a turn you have to point your skis downhill. Great advice for the slopes…great advice for life.
Nathan and I were talking about all the places around the world he and his family had traveled, with more trips planned in the future.
What perked my interest is when he began telling me about his recent skiing trip in the Alps.
Having only skied once in my life I was intrigued.
Nathan further explained that he and his son went up on the Italian side from Courmayeur and skied down the French side of the Vallee Blanche into Chamonix.
Having never traveled to any of the countries that borders the Alps I could only use my imagination to sense what it must have been like.
As Nathan further described the experience, he added, “It is often difficult for someone to learn how to ski as an adult.” When I asked why, he said, “In order to turn, you have to point your skis downhill.”
As it is with life as well.
When we are children, turning is not a problem. We are young and we are nimble.
However, as adults, turns and changes in our path become more challenging.
Yet the only way we will sense the exhilaration in life and be able to experience each individual day as it was intended?
Is to point our skis downhill.
Don’t be afraid to turn and change your current path.
It is the only way you will ultimately find the true path for your life.
Point your skis downhill.
